ACTING II: T220: Scene Study: Deepening of objective work with in-depth analysis of text and broadening the scope of personalization through emotion memory and transferences. Texts: An Actor Prepares, Stanislavski, Constantin. Plays of Contemporary Realism. Theory: Meisner, Stanislavski, Hagen.
TOPICS IN THEATRE AND DRAMA: T483: African American Theatre and Performance: This course combines classroom study and a weekly performance laboratory to explore the rich cultural contributions of African American artists to contemporary American theatre. Students will study the history, dramaturgy and performance aesthetics of canonical African American works by such artists as Angelina Grimké, Alice Childress, Charles Fuller, Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, Lorraine Hansberry, Amiri Baraka, Adrienne Kennedy, August Wilson, Ntozake Shange, George C. Wolfe, Suzan-Lori Parks, Lynn Nottage, Tarell Alvin McCraney, and then apply these lessons during practical scene study. The course will culminate in a showcase of students’ scene work and performance research.
AAADS: A104: Groups Theatre Workshop: Students learn to explore, innovate, collaborate, problem-solve and push the boundaries of your creative expression in this six-week intensive program. This experience will transition you from high school to the college by offering an in-depth look at the training of University students and their preparations for the professional world in the performing arts.

Designed and presented fun and motivating lessons that explained the fundamentals of drama. Utilizing various manipulative and hands-on activities to actively engage students and consolidate important concepts. Establish a reward system and provided positive reinforcement to maintain a productive and focused environment. Directed the culminating production combining all areas (dance, art, drama, creative writing).
